The Challenge

Rhodian Threads is a boutique fashion store in Rhodes that had been selling exclusively in-person. The owners wanted to expand online and ship across Europe, but their Etsy presence was limiting growth and eroding margin. They needed a custom eCommerce store that matched their brand’s premium positioning.

Our Approach

We proposed a WooCommerce solution on a custom WordPress theme — giving them full ownership of their data, customer relationships, and the flexibility to scale without platform lock-in.

Design

We started with a thorough UX audit of their Etsy store, mapping the customer journey and identifying friction points. The new design prioritises product photography, with a clean, editorial layout that lets the garments speak for themselves.

Key design decisions:

  • Full-bleed product photography with zoom on hover
  • Persistent shopping cart drawer (no page redirect)
  • Streamlined 2-step checkout reducing abandonment
  • Mobile-first approach — 70% of their audience shops on mobile

Development

  • Custom WooCommerce theme built from scratch
  • Integration with Stripe for payments
  • Automated order notifications and shipping labels (DHL integration)
  • Multi-currency support (EUR, GBP, USD)
  • Product filtering by size, colour, and collection
  • Instagram shop integration syncing the product catalogue

Results

Launched in October 2023:

  • €47,000 in online revenue in the first three months
  • 2.8% conversion rate (vs industry average of 1.5% for fashion)
  • 43 five-star reviews in the first 90 days
  • Repeat purchase rate of 28% — significantly above industry average

“We went from selling 20 products in-store to shipping 200 orders a month across Europe. Evolvio didn’t just build us a website — they built us a business.”

The store has since expanded to include a wholesale portal for boutique retailers in Germany and the Netherlands.
